What is Print to Order (PTO)?

With a Snowfall Press printer installed in STL’s (Advocate Distribution Solutions) Elizabethton, TN facility, Advocate can offer a “Print-to-Order” (PTO) service for foreignchristianbooks.com clients to the full spectrum of booksellers, e-commerce retailers and “big box”.  Books enrolled in the PTO program are printed in direct response to real customer orders and are filled in the same day in accordance with STL’s promise for same day shipping on orders received before 1pm. 

Key Elements:

1. Advocate feeds the product data to all of the key retailers in the country including B&N, Borders, Books-A-Million, Baker & Taylor, Ingram and all of the Christian trade (Family, LifeWay, Mardel, CBD, etc.)
2. Retailers place their orders with Advocate. Orders received before 1 PM print and ship in the same day

Step 1 – Contact David Sheets at foreignchristianbooks.com (foreignchristianbooks@gmail.com)  or Snowfall Press (david.sheets@snowfallpress.com) to sign your distribution agreement.

Step 2 – Load your titles in your account, proof them (soft proofs available upon request), save them with the full title, ISBN number, description, etc., and mark them ‘Active’ in the saved area.

Step 3 – Identify the names of the titles to be enrolled in the PTO program.

Step 4 – With a completed agreement in place with Advocate, you will be given access to a database tool and a full set of instructions to upload your product data for each title in the Advocate PTO system. When the data is complete, you will mark the title as ready for PTO, and it will be matched with your Snowfall Press files, and the title will go live in the STL/Advocate system.
